I have a weird family, fortunately it's not hereditary. It's the usual gang - one father, one mother and one brother, plus the members of my extended family, Pauliina, Eemil and Teddy. They're the most lovely bunch of people I know.

My immediate family consists of me and Teddy. Now that we have the same family name, maybe he'll remember to answer correctly when somebody asks him about his family. Teddy cooks wonderful food, loves champagne - and most importantly, describes me with the words "the best". I can live with that. He also doesn't complain very much when I ask him to massage my shoulders.

My father likes cooking and that's why we always get great food at home - we rarely if ever eat in restaurants because we get better meals at home. He also thinks you have to see the news at least four times a day - and, by the way, knows everybody who's ever interviewed in news programs.

My mother sometimes laughs uncontrollably. She thinks having her purse stolen was "a great international urban experience" despite the loss of her credit and bank cards and quite a lot of cash. Having a mother like her is a bit like having a sister. Perfect mothers are, of course, also experts in all fields, including medicine.

My brother decided to break the family tradition after a couple of years at TKK and now works as an airline pilot. He says sisters aren't probably entitled to discount tickets, which I find criminally unfair. I should also say that he's a great guy, because that's true.

The family was extended, when my brother married the lovely Pauliina, whose home pages are far more classy than mine.

The newest family member, my nephew Eemil, was born in August 2006. He's the cutest, sweetest little man ever. I'm not just saying that because I'm his aunt, I'm being entirely objective. He's very interested in gadgets and technology. I'm guessing he might become an engineer.

I could have the pictures of my family members here, but I know my mother wouldn't be pleased with any photo I'd find. Anyway, my family is great and I had to make this page because my mother always said "... but there's nothing about me here!" after reading my home page. Well, actually she didn't say that (you see, we rarely speak English at home) but the same thing in Finnish. (Boohoo, what a tired and sad, sad little attempt at a joke! I had to put this explanation here, because that was a stealth joke that would otherwise probably have passed unnoticed by most people's humour radars.)
