How to read your mails with IMAP

**NOTE:** If your Niksula account was created after September 2012, you do not
have a Niksula mailbox. Your mail is forwarded to your Aalto address by default.

### Settings for IMAP:

* **Server**: mail.niksula.hut.fi
* **Protocol**: IMAP with **STARTTLS**-encryption (port 143, though
  IMAP+SSL in port 993 works as well)
* **Username**: your Niksula username
* **Password**: your Niksula password

Use your local service providers SMTP-server for sending mail (our SMTP-server
won't relay messages outside .niksula.hut.fi-domain.

How to add mail forwarding from your Niksula mail
=================================================

Niksula system sends email reminders when your account is about to expire. If you don't follow your Niksula mail, please add forwarding e.g. to your Aalto mail. This can be done by adding the target email address in one line to file `.forward` in your home directory.
