Autox-lists

Subject: Mailer update
I've just installed a newer version of sendmail, which seems to be working fine. If you notice any strange problems with mail to whatever lists on autox.team.net you are on, let me know.

And while I'm typing, I might as well add the following info. While quite obvious, and included in the info message you get when you subscribe to one of the mailing lists, it is amazing how many people just don't understand. Those of you not familiar with email in general may especially want to save this info.

Recent addition: List statistics for those below

List to which you want to send mail Address to use

alpines alpines@autox.team.net alpines-digest alpines@autox.team.net autox autox@autox.team.net ax-digest autox@autox.team.net british-cars british-cars@autox.team.net british-cars-digest british-cars@autox.team.net british-cars-pre-war british-cars-pre-war@autox.team.net datsun-roadsters datsun-roadsters@autox.team.net healeys healeys@autox.team.net mgs mgs@autox.team.net mgs-digest mgs@autox.team.net mini-baja mini-baja@autox.team.net mini-list mini-list@autox.team.net mini-list-digest mini-list@autox.team.net morgans morgans@autox.team.net morris morris@autox.team.net newsletters newsletters@autox.team.net riley riley@autox.team.net shop-talk shop-talk@autox.team.net tigers tigers@autox.team.net tigers-digest tigers@autox.team.net triumphs triumphs@autox.team.net triumphs-digest triumphs@autox.team.net vintage-race vintage-race@autox.team.net vtr vtr@autox.team.net
If you want to unsubscribe from one of the lists you are on, it is extremely difficult. You send mail to majordomo@autox.team.net with nothing but

    	unsubscribe
as the body of the message. For example, if you want to get off the autocross list, you send mail to majordomo@autox.team.net with nothing but the two words
    	unsubscribe autox
as the body of the message.

If you try to unsubscribe, and get back that you are not a member of the list, pick some portion of your address, and use the 'which' command. For example, suppose you sent an unsubscribe command, and got back the reply that

bozo@one.host.nowhere is not a member of list 'autox'
Then you could send mail to majordomo with a line or two like
    	which bozo
    	which nowhere
You might get back something like
	>>>> which bozo
The string 'bozo' appears in the following
entries in lists served by Majordomo:

	List Address
	-----------------------------------------------------
	ax-digest bozo@other.host.nowhere
	british-cars-digest another_bozo@diploma.mill.edu
Then, knowing that you want to remove the entry for the ax-digest list, you send mail to majordomo@autox.team.net with the command
    	unsubscribe ax-digest bozo@other.host.nowhere
